Service

About this service

In many businesses, important data sits on a single computer or a single external drive. A drive failure, theft, ransomware or a simple user mistake can wipe out years of data in a moment. Regularly testing that a backup can actually be restored is as important as making it.

We install a file server or NAS that fits the size of your business, organise user permissions and prepare a backup plan with at least one copy in a different location (the 3-2-1 rule). We check regularly that backups are working and run restore tests.

When should you contact us?

  • Important data sits on a single computer or drive
  • Backups are not made or checked regularly
  • Your team struggles to access shared files
  • Your current server is old or causes frequent problems
  • You want protection against ransomware

We present in writing, in plain language, what works well, what carries risk and what the priorities should be.

Good to know

  • A single backup kept in the same place is not enough against fire, theft or ransomware.
  • We recommend encrypting backups and restricting access to them.
  • Scope and cost are defined after the first review, based on your business's needs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?

Keep at least 3 copies of your data, on 2 different types of media, with at least 1 copy in a different location.

NAS or server?

For most small businesses a NAS is enough and economical for file sharing and backups. Specific application requirements may call for a server.

Is cloud backup safe?

A correctly configured, encrypted cloud backup is a safe extra layer; we recommend using it together with a local backup.

Can you manage our existing server?

Yes. We first review the current state and present a maintenance and improvement plan.
